Personal Safety for lone workers

This one day course is our best seller specifically designed for workers who regularly lone work as part of their job. A lone worker can be anyone performing a job function away from colleagues either in an office environment or away from their base location. This training is designed to ensure that these workers have the knowledge and skills required to act appropriately in circumstances where they feel at risk and are able to recognise the early warning signs of a confrontation and deescalate a situation, avoiding the risk of violence to themselves or those around them.

Raising awareness in Personal Safety

This one day course is for anyone wishing to raise their awareness on issues around personal safety. The importance of keeping ourselves safe is not limited to just work and can impact on any part of our lives. The course aims to get delegates to evaluate their own working practices and things they do in their personal lives that could influence risk. The course is designed to be applicable to anyone regardless of job, responsibility or rank. From office workers, maintenance staff to senior managers and directors, personal safety is an important issue for anyone.

Managing the Personal Safety of your staff

This one day course is designed for managers who may be concerned about the personal safety of their staff and have the responsibility to ensure the risks are controlled as far as reasonably practicable. This course gives the opportunity for management to assess their organisation’s current position on personal safety and provides information on how to create a safer working environment for their staff. Managers also get the chance to gain insight into the risks involved with lone working and personal safety for their staff.

Managing violence and aggression at work

The course is designed for staff that may come into contact with individuals exhibiting violent or aggressive behaviour allowing them to deal effectively with aggressive and potentially violent situations. The content of the programme concentrates on the process of identifying and managing significant risks exploring proven control measures, tools and techniques to help staff avoid unnecessary risk. The course allows delegates to explore the early warning signs of aggression in order to take proactive measures in avoiding violence.

Managing violence and aggression with self defence

This one day course is delivered by two trainers. The first half of this course is theory based on personal safety issues and the importance of risk assessing potentially violent or aggressive situations. The course aims to help delegates to develop safer working strategies and allow them to recognise the early warning signs of aggression. The second half of the day is delivered by an expert in self defence and break away techniques allowing delegated to consider some simple ideas for dealing with a violent situation.

Awareness Talks

Awareness raiser talks / workshops can help your staff identify what personal safety issues may need to be addressed in both personal and working lives. An interactive talk on a relevant topic for 60 to 120 minutes can also be a good way of raising awareness during a meeting; staff away day; during a lunch break, These talks can be delivered to mixed audiences of staff, volunteers, managers, directors, board members etc. and allow for a quick way of accessing information.

Once a course has been booked, our training consultant will be in touch to discuss the training needs you may have.  We will take time to understand your organisation and the varying roles of staff.  From this we will be able to create session with appropriate learning outcomes agreed by you.

All prices quoted for training are for ‘course delivery & preparation’ by the training consultant as well as all handout materials and training evaluations.  These prices do not include any cost of venue, catering or consultant expenses.  In- House courses are usually delivered within your organisation or a venue booked by yourselves.

Yes!  If you would prefer TrainingSense to organise any venue and catering facilities, please contact us for a quote.  The charge for this will be on a ‘per head’ basis.  We will arrange everything for you, so all you need to do is turn up!

Not at all.  Our training consultants are always happy to travel anywhere in the UK and Ireland.  Depending on where the training is held we may require the consultant to stay in a hotel the night before and will always endeavor to find the most cost effective option.  We welcome enquiries from international organisations and will do our best to meet your needs.

To enable optimum learning and participation we recommend no more than 15 delegates for a one day or half day course.  Conferences and awareness talks can accommodate higher numbers.  In any event please contact TrainingSense, we will always do our best to accommodate your needs.

Our trainers will always create bespoke presentations and will bring this on a laptop or a date stick.  All we require is a projector / monitor to connect to.  Additionally a flip chart stand and pad is useful if available.  We recommend the room to be set up in a horse shoe of chairs with enough space for delegates to move around freely for group work activities.

For larger organisations who wish to book multiple courses for their staff, we would be happy to discuss discount options with you.

We fully appreciate sometimes planned training courses need to be cancelled or postponed. 

Cancellations more than 28 days in advance of the booked date will incur no charge. 

Cancellations 14 to 27 days in advance will incur a 50% charge. 

Cancellations made 7 to 13 days before the event will incur a 70% charge. 

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event will incur a 100% charge. 

We will always be happy to discuss the possibility of moving the date of the training to another date to meet your needs.
